Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is physical therapy?
A: Physical Therapy combines the science of healing with the art of
caring. It is a hands-on approach to healthcare. Physical Therapists
evaluate your movement patterns, identify the cause of your pain,
and work to eliminate it. While each patient's pain is unique, the
physical therapist may use various techniques to decrease your pain.
As your pain decreases, the therapist will progress to stretching
and strengthening exercises specific to your needs. The overall goal
is to restore your mobility and function with improved joint
protection to prevent the injury from reoccurring.
Q: How do I know if physical therapy
would help me?
A: Working with you and your doctor, we can discuss your options and
help determine if physical therapy would be right for you. Talk to
your doctor or call us at 785-263-3646 to set up a free
consultation.
Q: What should I bring to my first
visit?
A: You should bring:
- A prescription for physical therapy from your referring physician, ARNP, or PA
- Insurance information (we will take a copy of your card)
- In case of an automobile accident or worker’s compensation claim, also bring any contact names, phone numbers and claim number.
- List of medications with dosages
Q: Will it hurt?
A: As you restore mobility your pain levels often fluctuate. This is
a normal response to therapy treatment. Good communication with your
therapist will help minimize any discomfort.

contacting your insurance company and determining your coverage
