Abilene Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab has been serving the Abilene, Chapman and surrounding areas with exceptional skill and care since 2005. We enjoy helping residents of our community recover from injury and return to normal home, occupational and recreational activities.
Tonya Mills, PT & OwnerTonya graduated from Wichita State University in 1990 and opened Abilene Physical Therapy in 2005. She has special training in Womens Health, manual therapy techniques for spine and ribs and she is also ASTYM and NESTA certified.
Tonya enjoys the outdoors, gardening, traveling, cooking and a new hobby of scuba diving. She is married to Sean and has two sons Colton and Cade. |
Adam Burns, CPT, CMTPTAdam has been with APT&SR since 2008. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2004 after completeing his undergraduate study at John Brown University. Adam is certified in the ASTYM system, LSVT BIG treatment of Parkinson's Disease and is a Certified Speed, Agility, and Quickness specialist with NESTA. He has also completed certification in Dry Needling treatment and additional education in Vestibular Rehabilitation.
Adam and his wife, Kari, have three daughters: Madelyn, Kamryn and Leah. He can often be found working in his yard and garden, playing ball in the yard with his girls or enjoying other sporting activities with his family. |
Kathy Woodard, PTKathy is an Abilene native and graduated from the University of Kansas with her BS in Physical Therapy in 1985. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of settings, most recently in the hospital, nursing home, and home health.
Kathy has 2 grown children, Cassidy and Alex, and loves to spend time with them. She also enjoys traveling, playing music, and knitting in her spare time. She is active in the Abilene Municipal Band and volunteers both at Great Plains Theatre and as treasurer for Boy Scout Troop 40. |
Elizabeth Scarbrough, OTElizabeth is a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). She earned her master’s degree in Arizona at A.T. Still University in 2018. Elizabeth joined Abilene Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab in 2023. She has received her certification in LSVT BIG treatment of Parkinson’s. She is also 200 hour yoga certified which supports her beliefs in the importance of movement and physical health for her patients.
Elizabeth is originally from Chicago and will always be a Cubs fan! In her free time, Elizabeth loves to run half marathons, most recently including the Eisenhower Half Marathon in Abilene, Kansas. Elizabeth, her husband Graham and their 18-month old son, Izaak, love to hike, fly fish and eat Chicago style deep dish pizza. |
Angie Hoerner, PTAAngie grew up in Abilene. She attended Kansas State University (Go Cats!) receiving a BA in Speech Pathology and Audiology. After working in the physical therapy field as an aide for 4 years, she entered Washburn University's Physical Therapist's Assistant Program. After graduating, she worked in a hospital setting serving inpatients, outpatients, and home health. Angie has been with Abilene Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab since 2005. She has extensive training in manual therapy techniques and is ASTYM certified. She also has training in balance and fall prevention, vestibular rehab and biofeedback for incontinence, and LSVT BIG for Parkinson's Disease. "I love physical therapy and the opportunity to meet new people. Helping them get better is the best part!"

Kaylee Campbell, PTAKaylee grew up in Ottawa, Kansas and attended PTA school at Colby Community College, graduating in 2012. For the last 11 years, she has worked in long term care, most recently in a nursing home and assisted living. Kaylee joined Abilene Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab in July 2023. She loves connecting with her patients on a personal level and watching them meet their goals through PT!
Kaylee lives with her husband (Brett) and son (Cooper) in Salina. She loves spending time in the mountains, crafting, reading, and making memories with her family and friends. |
