Manual Therapy is the use of hands-on techniques by skilled clinicians to evaluate, treat, and improve the mobility of joints and soft tissue. The therapist uses their hands or specialized tools to put pressure on soft tissues and to mobilize/manipulate joints.  The goal is to reduce pain associated with muscle spasm, muscle tension and poor joint mobility.

Manual therapy has many benefits, including reduced pain, stress and strain; increased joint mobility and soft tissue health; increased blood flow; and reduced inflammation. Your joints and tissues are designed to function as a balanced system, and when dysfunction occurs, manual therapy can be a great way to begin restoring normal movement patterns.

The state of Kansas is a “Direct Access” state for Physical Therapy.

You can begin physical therapy with or without a referral from a physician.
