Occupational Therapy (OT) is a unique branch of healthcare that helps people of all ages with physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges improve their ability to perform daily activities and achieve greater independence in their lives. It's an approach that focuses on promoting health and well-being through meaningful engagement in everyday activities, also known as "occupations."

Focus: Helping people participate in the activities that matter to them, whether those activities are self-care tasks like dressing and eating, work-related tasks, hobbies, or social activities.

Interventions: OT interventions are tailored to individual needs and may include exercises, adaptive equipment, task modification, or environmental adjustments.

Benefits: OT can help people improve their function, build skills, increase independence, manage pain, and enhance their overall quality of life.

Who can benefit: People of all ages with a wide range of conditions can benefit from occupational therapy, including:
  • Adults with injuries, chronic conditions, or disabilities
  • Older adults experiencing declines in function
